ABBYFEST – Abbotsford Multicultural Festival

The 3rd annual ABBYFEST - Abbotsford Multicultural Festival will be held on Saturday Sept 18th 2010.

Festival Theme

Increase public awareness of Multiculturalism, build & sustain a harmonious foundation of trust, mutual respect, social cohesion, better understanding and develop strong bonds among people.

Promote Racial and Ethnic harmony, and Cross-Cultural understanding.

Convey that all citizens may keep their identities, take pride in their ancestry yet at the same time have a strong sense of belonging to Canada.

ABBYFEST Multicultural Festival recognizes and allows members of distinct groups within the society to celebrate their cultures and traditions as a way to promote social cohesion.

Invitation

The citizens of the Fraser Valley and surrounding communities are hereby invited to come and Celebrate our Cultural Diversity by participating in the Interactive Cultural Events presented by the members of our vibrant diverse community. Enjoy the Socio-Cultural Displays, Arts & Crafts, Dances, Fashion Shows, Entertainment, and take pleasure of smelling the aroma and tasting of various Ethnic Foods that will be available at the ABBYFEST.

Opening Ceremonies consist of the Parade of Nations at the Abbyfest grounds. The Participants dressed in various national costumes, lead by First Nation Elders, will carry the flags of the different nations represented in the Fraser Valley.
